When Bookworm and Soccer Star were babies, all I knew about cloth diapers was that they were a hassle. Pins, washing, ugly plastic-type covers, all of that. They were both 100% disposable diapered babies. I automatically assumed that I would diaper all of my babies in “sposies”, no question. But then, not long before I was pregnant with Sweet, I met some fantastic ladies online. Almost every single one of them used cloth diapers on their babes, and they introduced me to the world of fluffy bottomed babies. Pockets, prefolds, AIO, I had no idea there were so many different kinds of cloth diapers. And the COLORS! How fun! So, with the exception of certain instances, both Sweet and Baby V have had the pleasure of wearing cute, colorful, not-as-difficult-to-take-care-of cloth diapers.

Not too long ago, Lotus Bumz sent me one of their pocket diapers to try out. Selling eco friendly, affordable cloth diapers, Lotus Bumz also sells mama cloth items, diaper accessories, and trainers, and all of their items are eco-friendly.
From their website:
“Lorain started Lotus Bumz when she realized that there is a great need for an affordable cloth diaper.
After deciding to go with cloth diapers with her new born and seeing the physical benefits that it had on his skin as well as knowing that using cloth diapers is so much better for the environment then disposable diapers she decided more parents need to know and and be able to afford this great way of diapering.”

The first thing I noticed was how thick the insert was, and how soft! I was expecting a lot of bulk because of it, and was ready for the “diaper-butt” look. Although it is a little bulky, it’s not nearly as big as I thought it would be. It absorbs liquids great, we haven’t had any messes or leaks so far. The amount of buttons on this diaper were a bit weird at first, I’ve never had one like this before. After getting used to it, though, I love it, especially since Baby V has little legs, but a big baby belly, and it can be hard to get diapers to fit correctly sometimes.

Connect with Lotus Bumz via their website, and on Facebook and Twitter!

You can win a diaper for your baby too! Just fill out the Rafflecopter form, and you’re all set. This one is open to US and Canadian residents, and closes on 5/9 at 9pm PST. Good luck!
