My New Favorite Band – Vintage Trouble #CBias #VTLeno

Computer Dude and I were talking this past weekend about the lack of good music nowadays. When I was growing up, there were so many good bands and musicians. But now? Meh. Sure, there comes someone that has a couple good songs. But for the most part, I’ll stick to my tried and true. Which is sad, because I really like finding new music to listen to. Especially when I like pretty much ALL of a band’s music, not just one song.

When I was a teen growing up in SoCal, a group of my friends started a band. Some of my best memories from that time are going with them to hear them play at some local gig. Their hearts were in their music. They had so much talent, but it was more than that. There is something special about watching a band play their music in a situation like that. It’s totally different from other types of concerts. It’s… I don’t know, fresh. Real. And it’s hard to find that same feel today. There is just a lack of music for music’s sake. I’ve been waiting for some good new rock, and I’ve found it.

I’ve recently been turned on to a band called Vintage Trouble. I immediately fell in love with them and their sound! They have a good ol’ rock and roll vibe, with some soul thrown in. I really love Hand Me Down Blues, but I think my favorite (right now) is “Nobody Told Me”

After hearing a couple songs from the band‘s album, The Bomb Shelter Sessions, I had to head on over to Amazon and buy it. Of course I bought the Encore edition, because it came with three extra songs!

What I love about this album is that there is such a mix of songs. Some with a beat to really get you moving around and dancing, and some slower, softer ones that are just as fun to sing along with. I absolutely love Ty Taylor’s voice, I could listen to him sing all day long.

I’m going to be watching Vintage Trouble on Jay Leno tonight, and you should too! Tune in tonight (January 15) at 11:35 EST/10:35 CST, and enjoy the show! While you’re waiting, buy their album, check out their tour schedule on their website, and follow them on Twitter for updates!
Here’s a video of their song Hand Me Down Blues, to get you going:

I’m always afraid to ‘try’ new music, this sounds nice and kid friendly too which is a bonus!

  2. I’ve never heard of this group, but I’m anxious to listen to that music video as soon as the toddler wakes up from her nap :) .

  3. Set my DVR! I need some good music to listen to- I always just listen to my old favorites too.
