It’s another episode of Fitness Friday, hosted by We Have It All and Andersons Angels. We’ll post up weekly updates about our fitness journey, and we want you to join in!
I’ll be posting about things like diet changes, weight loss, inches lost and activity goals along with the failures or achievements of my past week. I’ve been trying to lose weight for a long time, but this year is going to be different. The biggest change is going to be my mindset (read this post). With that changing, the weight loss will be much easier. ![]()
Here is my week 6 update:
WEIGHT
Current weight: 213.4
First Goal: 199 (ONE-derland!)
Second Goal: 185
Third Goal: 169 (Healthy BMI)
Final Goal: 150
I was 213.8 last week, so I’m down .4 lbs. On one hand, I’m happy that it’s another straight loss (which hasn’t happened in months), but on the other hand, it’s going to take a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time to get to my goal. Clearly I need to start doing something different, but in the meantime, I’ll keep the quote above in mind. Progress is progress.
ACTIVITY
I’m trying to get back into doing more activity, but I’m letting myself get lazy because of midterms. Got to step it up!
FOOD
I actually did pretty well with my intake this week. Too much coffee, but no overeating. I haven’t had enough water, which is surely one of the reasons I’m not losing very much.
GOALS FOR FEBRUARY 15
Weight – 212 (I WILL make it someday! lol)
Activity – Same goal as last week. I’d like to get 20 miles walked this week. At the gym I usually end up walking 3.5 miles, three times a week, but I only got to the gym twice this past week, so I missed out on a day. I’m also going to get in 2-3 kettlebell workouts at home, along with some yoga.
Diet – I planned out our dinner menu for the rest of the month, which both helps with keeping us out of the drive-thru lines, and relieves some stress in the afternoons.
I joined a DietBet game with a friend, which starts on the 11th. It will hopefully keep me on track, especially since there’s money involved, AND since I got Computer Dude to sign up too! Now there will be a little friendly competition in our house as well.
The great thing about DietBet is that EVERY person who makes their goal (lose 4% of your weight in 28 days) wins, it doesn’t go by who lost the most. I have to lose 8.5 lbs, so my piddly weekly loss isn’t going to cut it. Over 2lbs a week is going to have to be lost in order to make my goal. So any tips are welcomed!
Head on over to Andersons Angels or We Have It All and link up your fitness post! The more people that sign up, the more support everyone gets.

Good luck with your journey! I can’t wait to read about your progress.
