Fitness Friday – February 15


It’s another week of Fitness Friday, hosted by We Have It All and Andersons Angels. We’ll post up weekly updates about our fitness journey, and we want you to join in!

I’ll be posting about things like diet changes, weight loss, inches lost and activity goals along with the failures or achievements of my past week. I’ve been trying to lose weight for a long time, but this year is going to be different. The biggest change is going to be my mindset (read this post). With that changing, the weight loss will be much easier. :)
Here is my week 6 update:

WEIGHT
Current weight: 214.4
First Goal: 199 (ONE-derland!)
Second Goal: 185
Third Goal: 169 (Healthy BMI)
Final Goal: 150
I was 213.8 last week, so I’m up a full pound. I’ve had a bad toothache from sinus trouble, and while it is getting better, for the past couple days I haven’t been able to eat much (like I’m down to one meal a day, if that). Now for some people that would mean a nice loss, for me that means that my body goes into super stingy mode, and tries to grab and hold on to any bit of weight gain it can. I have a full arsenal of sinus treatments at home, and am calling the dentist this morning just in case I’m wrong about it being sinuses. Hopefully things will get back to normal, and I can see a loss next week.

ACTIVITY
The thing about toothaches is that they are distracting. I haven’t been able to concentrate on much of anything, including workouts. Especially workouts, since movement makes the discomfort worse. The beginning of the week was great, I got my scheduled walks in Mon-Wed, plus a weight class and some at-home stuff. But by Wednesday night things went downhill, and I haven’t exercised since.

FOOD
Like I said above, not very much eating. No veggies, unless they were cooked to mush. I can’t wait until I’m completely better.

GOALS FOR FEBRUARY 22
Weight – 212 (I WILL make it someday! lol)
Activity – Same goal as all my weeks. I’d like to get 20 miles walked this week. That would be about half at teh gym, and the other half at home. Plus I want to attend the weight class M/W/F mornings at the gym as well. In addition to that, I want to keep up with my kettlebell routine at home. Busy busy.
Diet – I still have our dinner plan for the month, but I’ve been really lazy about grocery shopping, so we haven’t been sticking to the plan. I’m doing shopping this weekend though, so we’ll be all set!

My DietBet challenge is running in full swing right now, and while it is discouraging to see that so many of the people are already at least 25% of the way to their goal, I still have over 3 weeks to catch up. The great thing is that to win, I don’t have to lose the MOST weight, I just have to lose a certain amount (4%). That takes a lot of pressure off of me.

  1. I see that your fitness activity includes taking a class and walking. I found that at home DVD’s worked well for me when I had a set time to do them. I also ran on an elliptical Mon-Fri for 1/2 hour to get me going.

    Losing weight is hard, but totally worth it once you feel more energetic and happy! – or at least that is how I feel. Good luck. YOU CAN DO IT!

  2. That sucks your up a pound, could be something simple like water weight. It’s hard to loss weight but I know you can do it!
