One of the hardest lessons to teach a young child (in my opinion) is sharing. They never want to! Except, of course, when it’s a cold or flu. And one of our favorite activities in the winter is to see who can get the most colds. Ok, it’s not really something we TRY to do, but it happens anyway. This year I am the clear winner. I don’t remember being sick THIS often. Ever. In fact, I just started my newest cold a couple days ago!
When my little ones get sick, it’s chicken soup and resting, as much of both as they can tolerate. But when it’s me? I shudder to think what the house would be like if I lounged on the couch and let the kids run things while Computer Dude was at work. So I keep going. Laundry, meals, making the house at least RESEMBLE a livable environment (using “livable” very loosely here). Which usually makes my cold worse. I used to just deal with it, but the past few years I’ve had absolutely no patience with sickness, and have been treating it at the first signs. I start with the usual vitamin C, going to be earlier, etc. But if that doesn’t nip it in the bud, I will take something for it.
Two things that we always have in our house are Dayquil and Nyquil. Year round those two are sitting in the medicine cabinet upstairs.

I’ve been taking Dayquil during my super busy days, and Nyquil to help my symptoms go away at night and let me sleep. Now just a few days after it showed up, this cold is almost gone!
You can find both Dayquil and Nyquil nationwide at any store that sells Vicks products. They are available in either Liquicaps or Liquid form, depending on your preference. I suggest these to help get you through your next cold or flu! Remember that these products are NOT suited for children younger than 12. Please follow the instructions on the label of these products.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Vicks DayQuil & NyQuil. I received product samples and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Speaking of ‘sharing’ – I have SUCH a hard time with these 3 year olds (my daycare kids) when it comes to sharing germs during sicknesses… Anyway, my hubby swears by Nyquil at night when he is sick with something. He swears it helps him feel better and sleep good.
You got that sharing thing spot on. My kids are pros at sharing their germs with me. I love NyQuil, but with breastfeeding I can’t take it – best believe when my breastfeeding days are done it will be stocked in my medicine cabinet again!
